Peabody Trust – Hammersmith Estate

The Peabody Trust – Hammersmith Estate is a historic residential development in West London, originally built in the late 19th century. The estate consists of several blocks of flats, each with its own unique architectural features, including ornate brickwork, decorative arches, and intricate ironwork.

In recent years, the Peabody Trust – Hammersmith Estate underwent a significant refurbishment to improve the quality of its housing stock and ensure compliance with modern building regulations. As part of this refurbishment, Grady Joinery was brought in to provide fire doorsets for the project.

Grady Joinery’s fire doorsets were chosen for their high-quality construction, fire resistance, and aesthetic appeal, and were tailored to suit the specific requirements of each block. The doorsets were designed to complement the original features of the buildings, with a range of finishes and configurations used to match the existing decor.

Throughout the installation process, Grady Joinery’s installation team worked closely with the project team to ensure that the fire doorsets were installed correctly and on schedule. The team carried out a thorough site survey and preparation process, ensuring that the doorsets were specified correctly and that the frames were properly aligned and secured.

The installation process itself involved fitting the frames and hinges, attaching the door leaf to the frame, and fitting the lock and handle. Fire-stopping materials were installed around the frame and in any gaps or openings to ensure that the doorsets provided adequate fire protection. The doorsets were finished with any required hardware, such as signage or vision panels.

Thanks to the high-quality fire doorsets supplied by Grady Joinery, the Peabody Trust – Hammersmith Estate now provides effective fire protection for its residents while maintaining its historic character and charm.
